Salmon Evolution today introduces its first salmon raised responsibly on land to the market. To celebrate this historic milestone, the company is hosting a world premiere with a local campaign in western Norway. “After all, who are better qualified to deliver an honest and well-considered evaluation of our salmon than people from the seafood region where it all started?”, the company asks.
After seven months of excellent growth and biological performance, Salmon Evolution is now harvesting its first salmon and introducing them to the company’s local market.
”We don’t only raise salmon,” says Odd Frode Roaldsnes, head of commercial at Salmon Evolution. “We raise a new standard of salmon. Because we make no compromises on water quality, fish welfare or environmental responsibility, our salmon thrives better, grows better and tastes better.”
In recent months, the company has conducted extensive testing of product quality with very positive results, confirming good fish health and fillet quality, firm meat texture, a nice and consistent meat colour, and an excellent salmon taste.
Although Salmon Evolution’s confidence in its product quality is high, it is now seeking proof-of-concept from a wider range of salmon enthusiasts. The company has teamed up with 11 gourmet restaurants and larger supermarkets in Ålesund, Molde, Kristiansund and Ørsta to invite people across the whole region to have their say.

“Salmon is a global delicacy and our fish will soon find their way to an international market,” explains Roaldsnes. “Asking for honest feedback at home, where our salmon are born and raised, is the best way of preparing them for a successful life abroad.”
“We’re very happy to be able to share our Salmon Evolution® with the market, and hope that many salmon lovers of all ages will find their way to one of our valued partners. Their feedback is important.”
The Salmon Evolution® product will be available in November and December at the following venues:
