The Indre Harøy site in western Norway presented its best side on Monday 12 July when Odd Emil Ingebrigtsen, minister of fishing and seafood, paid a visit to Salmon Evolution in beautiful summer weather.
Currently under construction, this land-based fish farm provides an impressive spectacle, with its huge dimensions and giant tanks designed to bring sustainable salmon to the market.
An interested and clearly optimistic minister was convinced that fish farms on land will become part of Norway’s aquaculture sector in the time to come.
“Salmon Evolution’s facility on the Møre coast, which is a product of far-sighted local entrepreneurs and investors, creates positive spin-offs both regionally and nationally,” he said. “The world needs more healthy Norwegian seafood, and this company is part of the solution for achieving that.”
